Variations in Accommodations

Accommodations for students with disabilities vary from those used for English language learners.

A student’s disability-related barriers may or may not change over time. This means that accommodations for students with disabilities may remain the same over an extended period of time.

A student’s English language-related barriers are likely to change over time as the student’s English language proficiency increases. For this reason, accommodations for English language learners are also likely to change.
