As illustrated in the previous modules, assessments represent a significant investment for students, parents, educators, and other staff.
ELLs with disabilities require special consideration because this group may participate in various assessments and may use accommodations.
Assessment results should be available for stakeholders to view and interpret.
To aid in interpretation, it is recommended that results be disaggregated for ELLs with disabilities. Disaggregated means that students’ test scores are averaged or summed across a subgroup of students (i.e., ELLs with disabilities) and reported separately from (as well as within) the scores of other students at the school, district, or state levels.
Disseminating results allows schools, districts, and states to see how well current instructional programming and policies are supporting the academic achievement of ELLs with disabilities.
